New Lodger
The New Lodger
It seems that my horse Spider has sublet his stable. A few days ago I was sweeping up some loose hay and wondered why it felt so heavy. I soon found out when a prickly brown ball fell out with a scrunch and scuttled into the corner. Mrs Tiggywinkle! I quickly covered her up with a large duvet of hay and left her to recover her nerves. Since then she has spent every day in his stable, snuggled up in her grassy nest. As I’ve never seen her arrive – presumably very early in the morning – nor seen her leave in the evening, we decided to set up a wildlife camera to see if we could record these two events.
Fortunately Spider is a very picky eater and won’t touch food if it drops on the floor so Mrs T is quite safe. I’m not sure what the financial arrangement is between landlord and lodger but with hay prices set to be eye-wateringly expensive this Winter every penny will help.
